New websites: ezonedesk.com and casaboubeach.com

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

Last week we launched two new websites. The first one was for a local E-zone consultancy company, Ezonedesk. This company helps other companies that want to set up business in one of the economic zones of Curacao. Apparently, being in the ezone greatly reduces profit taxes (2%) but there are a lot of restrictions. We checked, and regretfully we would not be allowed to settle there so we’ll just continue paying our taxes.

The second website was for the dive and watersports operator on Cas Abao Beach.  Cas Abao is often named as the most beautiful beach of Curacao (with which we agree). Its crystal clear blue water and fine sand are great for a day at the beach and since a few months there’s also a well-run bar/restaurant and a lot to do.

We are really happy with both websites and would like to wish both our clients good luck with them.

Social Media internship

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

One of our clients is looking for an intern to take charge of creating the content for their daily emails (around food, travel, global issues, news, wellness, culture, borders). The full description is below.

If you want to apply, just send an email with your motivation and unique selling points to Janera Soerel, or contact her on Facebook. The description:

JANERA.com, The Voice of Global Nomads, is an independent online magazine and members-only social network. Ours is an online magazine and social network, for global nomads. We talk about global culture and economics from a human point of view.

We are looking for a smart, motivated, internet-savvy intern who can take charge of creating the content for our daily emails (around food, travel, global issues, news, wellness, culture, borders). Content will need to either be created, or found via links to relevant topics on the web. Other responsibilities include editing, transcribing of interviews conducted with leading global thinkers, some writing, database management, and a variety of other duties related to running an online publication.

Interns must have a strong interest in New Media, know how to use photoshop, be web-savvy, have outstanding communication abilities, and strong attention to detail.

Most of the work will have to be done remotely, and quite independently.
