Yeah, we had to stop it because we didn't receive enough responses. So basically we ran out of websites to analyze. We could have gone on regardless, but we didn't want to do this without the approval of the websites' owners. Before you know it you're the unsolicited smart a*s and/or the agencies that made the sites would accuse us of cramping their style.

The project was not without result though. More and more local companies are asking questions about SEO, we did some presentations about the subject and other local web design agencies advertise with knowing about SEO as well. It was a step in the right direction, but just one step, not a walk yet and nobody needs sneakers yet...
As you say, it needs time (and education)

Have you stopped this project? By now there should be more than 52 study cases but i see less than 20. I have been thinking of such when i came to curacao but after mixing with people and doing lot of genuine talkings (not commercial) i realized it may take at least 5 more years before such an initiative is truly understood.

The article on nationnews.com is rather short to convince anybody.
Also this applies for many sectors in Curacao. I have spoken personally to people and explained the importance of SEO & Web development but there are lot of barriers. Many businesses have encountered bad experience regarding web design and are simply not willing or too scared to repeat such experience. Also once they understand SEO the only request would be "first place on google". The costs and details surrounding this scares them off unless they get lied to. The worse part is that many believe in "free 50$ google adwords" and will think that's all that is needed to rank high in google. It's all about education i believe. No company is really into agressive SEO in curacao. I believe a new generation of companies will emerge in a couple of years that will be extremely web savvy and put many local companies out of business at a fast pace.

I'm currently working with a web design company, and I have an idea that now it is the age of content bases web site, though design does matter but still to get good positions across all search engine you need strong and useful content.

Hi Marjolijn,
Hanging our collective head in shame..... We changed the name of the city.
It would be a shame if a project like this would not be able to continue. If we can help in some way, sure we will.

Hi Dragonfly Media
Thanx voor mentioning our website! Only one thing, we are students from Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg and not from Eindhoven. Besides that, we still don't know if there are any interns who want to take over our website, so maybe you are interested?
